* WHERE…Portions of DC, including the following , District of Columbia, central Maryland, including the following county, Montgomery, and northern Virginia, including the following counties, Arlington, City of Alexandria, City of Falls Church and Fairfax.
* WHEN…Until 100 PM EDT.
* IMPACTS…Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 904 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Flooding is already occurring in the warned area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have fallen.
– Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in the warned area.

Update at 8:10 a.m. — Reagan National Airport, which is currently seeing very heavy rain, is under a ground stop according to the FAA.
Update at 8 a.m. — Another Flash Flood Warning has been issued, encompassing parts of south Arlington and D.C. The earlier warning remains in effect as heavy rain continues to fall.

Earlier: Part of Arlington is under a Flash Flood Warning.
The warning is due to heavy rain. There was also a fast-moving, possibly rotating storm approaching from the south as of 6:45 a.m., though an earlier Tornado Warning for Fairfax County was cancelled by the time it moved over a northwestern portion of Arlington.
The Flash Flood Warning is in effect until 9:45 a.m. as long, narrow bands of heavy rain from Debby continue to race north over the area.
